WRITING12 AUG 2026

India is buying autonomy. Almost none of it is Indian.

Indigenisation policy moved procurement toward domestic suppliers faster than the domestic supply base matured. Airframes are being built here. The autonomy and communication layers, mostly, are not.

27 AUG 2026MILESTONEInternal trial · Rajasthan
Five-agent coordinated flight

Five aircraft under a single operator, tasked by intent rather than waypoint, holding formation through a simulated link loss.

04 AUG 2026PRESSPublication name
Coverage of the 20 kg platform

Feature on the Indian-made engine decision and what it did to our lead times.

29 JUL 2026FIELD NOTE
What forty flights taught us about degraded comms

Link loss is not an edge case in the field. Notes on designing for it as the default rather than the exception.

18 JUL 2026MILESTONEBench and flight test
Indigenous communication module — first mesh link

RF mesh between three airborne agents with no ground infrastructure, running on our own module.

02 JUL 2026PRESSEvent or outlet name
Panel appearance on indigenous autonomy

Discussion of where Indian defence autonomy actually stands against the procurement timeline.

Reading the Positive Indigenisation Lists as a product roadmap

The lists tell you what will be bought domestically and when. Most startups read them too late.

05 JUN 2026MILESTONEInternal trial
Rover 30 first autonomous run

Thirty kilograms carried over two hours of unattended operation on unprepared ground.

02 JUN 2026FIELD NOTE
What happens when the link goes dark

Most autonomy demos assume a datalink. The interesting question is what the swarm does in the minutes after it loses one.

Why we are building our own radio

One module carrying RF mesh, 4G/5G and SATCOM, failing over without operator action — and why buying that off the shelf was not an option.
